Our models and drawings are produced and reviewed by chartered and licensed engineers, including holders of PE (Texas), CPEng, MRICS and MCIOB. Deliverables include an engineering assessment of the design, not geometry alone.
Where a model exposes a detail that cannot be built as drawn, a tolerance conflict, or an element specified above the load case it serves, we raise it with the designer or engineer of record before the package progresses to detail stage.
We use Revit API, C#, Python and Dynamo workflows to automate repetitive production and to run quality-control checks across the whole model on every issue rather than on a sample.
Clash detection identifies where two objects occupy the same space. It does not identify whether a reinforcement arrangement can physically be placed, whether a service route leaves adequate tolerance against the structure, whether a connection detail will be accepted by the engineer of record, or whether a section has been specified above the load case it serves.
These are engineering assessments and require an engineer to make them. A model can be fully coordinated and still carry issues of this kind into construction, where they are usually raised as RFIs and settled as variations. Correction at that stage costs more and affects the programme.
Because our modellers are qualified engineers, issues of this kind are identified during modelling and referred back to the designer or engineer of record, in writing and with a proposed resolution, before the package progresses.

You carry the delivery risk on a design issued by others and modelled by others. Where the two do not reconcile on site, the programme absorbs the delay and your commercial position is tested.
A detail that cannot be built as drawn will pass clash detection, because geometrically nothing intersects. It reaches shop drawing stage, then site, and is raised as an RFI. By the time it is resolved the sequence has moved and the entitlement position is harder to establish, because the record does not clearly show when the issue became knowable.
Our modellers are qualified engineers and assess whether the resolution is buildable, not only whether the objects clear each other.
Design queries are issued to the designer or engineer of record, dated and with a proposed resolution. The register serves as a technical output and as a contemporaneous commercial record.
Members of the team are designers, so we can propose an alternative arrangement, section or system rather than reporting that a budget has been exceeded.
